The Magic Sayote

I'm very sure nga if you're from Philex, you know so well about sayote. Sayote from the kayas of Eastern Saddle, Market Area and Kiangan Village faaaar, far away. Ngem to the people outside our world, this sayote we tend to ignore everyday- is very magical and precious to them.

So, why do we tend to ignore ngay this so-called "magical" sayote? It is because, it is always there. We see them as ordinary. One piece of sayote is virtually free. Madawat ngay. Ngem to the outside world, one piece would cost about 5 pesos to 10 pesos per piece! Agasem ngay! We only realize their worth when it's gone- or when we don't live ditoy Philex anymore.  It will be like ordering ngay from Lazada-- it ships from abroad. Nabayag piman.

It's like having kadi a relationship. You don't see the value of your partner because she's always there, same cycle of clothes every week, same make-up everyday, same conversation ken same kwa. You tend to ignore ken you tend to be less grateful because she's there. You get tired of the same face adi, then one day you wake up, making a decision of letting go.

Then, you get the feeling of growing more alone each day...  feeling of having more sunsets instead of sunrise.. feeling more down.. ta she's gone. The sting of reality bites you. The air of melancholy surrounds you. Shucks.

So, after you read this, I hope ta you'll have a different perspective when you look at sayote. You'll never know its worth until you're out of its proximity in space. Keep it magical.
